If you live in Toronto, you might be used to visiting us in High Park - wandering through the savannah wildflowers, checking the ponds for tadpoles, or scanning the treetops for an elusive songbird! We're so thrilled to be able to now be offering Online Naturalist Courses and Online Summer Camps.

We'll prioritize all of the same values as our in person programming - community, reciprocity, stewardship, and a deep love of the natural world - and you'll be able to join us from just about anywhere! So join our fantastic team of naturalists and dive into interactive online learning experiences!

Online Summer Camps

Our online camps are designed for kids age 6-12. You can sign up for a week of Zoom calls and extra learning activities to do from home, or opt for the DIY version with just the extra learning activities.

  • June 29-July 3: Nature Detectives (Forensics in the Forest)
  • July 6-10: City Slickers (Critters in Your Neighbourhood)
  • July 13-17: Animal Pilots (Nature's Frequent Fliers)
  • July 20-24: Weird and Creepy Things
  • July 27-31: Bright and Beautiful Things

Online Naturalist Courses

  • Nature Journalling for Naturalists
  • Fantastic Fungal Friends
  • Birds of the City

Take courses individually or do all 3 together in our Online Naturalist Experience!

Donations

As a charitable organization, the High Park Nature Centre relies on donations from people like you! Your donation will help us provide environmental programming to students, families, and the greater community. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $15 and up.

The High Park Nature Centre has been offering nature education in Toronto since 1999. Our naturalist teachers have backgrounds in Forestry, Education, Ecology, and much more. They are so excited to be able to share with others the skills and knowledge they need to dive into new topics and enhance their competencies as naturalists and lovers of the outdoors!
